FC Barcelona Ready for Inaugural Match at Renovated Camp Nou on Saturday
Barça revealed they will play at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou over the weekend. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Basque side in the Spanish league two and a half years following their departure for construction to commence.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Not all seats will be available though over 45,000 attendees can be present as per the current authorization. Once fully finished, it will accommodate almost 105,000 spectators, increasing from the former 99,000. The club said finished work included a new players’ tunnel and new dressing rooms.
Preparatory Events
The club conducted a fan-accessible workout at the Camp Nou in early November. Officials stated they are seeking authorization from European football’s governing body to host the next European match facing Eintracht in December at Camp Nou. They have been hosting matches at the Olympic Stadium.
