Clair Obscur Sweeps at the 2025 Golden Joystick Ceremony
The forty-third annual Golden Joystick Awards unfolded recently, and in a stunning show, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was crowned the top winner. The surprise role-playing game from Sandfall Interactive won the coveted Top Game award, along with accolades for Outstanding Narrative and Top Visual Design.
Complementing the studio's achievements, its skilled performers also received individual awards. Jennifer English won Top Lead Actor for her performance as Maelle, while Ben Starr took home Best Supporting Performer for his acting as Verso. Furthermore, Sandfall Interactive itself was honored as Studio of the Year. Altogether, Clair Obscur and its developers won 7 awards during the event.
Additional standout winners included Ghost of Yōtei, which won Best Audio Design and Top Console Title, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, receiving Top Self-Published Indie and PC Game of the Year. Worth mentioning, the bulk of Golden Joystick Awards are voted on by the gamers, with only four awards—Critics’ Choice, Breakthrough, Hall of Fame, and Streamers’ Choice—judged by reviewers.
